The Jolly Brewers pub on Clifton Road has won an award from CAMRA , the Campaign for Real Ale. The pub, which was formally the Clifton looked to have an uncertain future a year ago until the Warwickshire Brewery Company took over the running of the pub.

Steve Heighton from CAMRA stated  'The pub was renovated and greatly improved. The Warwickshire Brewery supply their own traditional beers as well as guest ales and this has made the pub really attractive again to the local drinkers in the area'.

The brewery owners Jerry Lewitt and Graham Soden said 'We were looking for the perfect pub to sell our local ales and we were delighted to get the Jolly Brewers.  We recruited an excellent pair in Jason Giles and his partner Charlene Chitty to run the pub, and we are very pleased with not only the award but also the turnaround in the pubs success.  It was very important as a local Warwickshire brewery to have a presence in Rugby and to be recognised by CAMRA is a major achievement for us.

The award was made by Tim Dawe Chairman of the local CAMRA branch last Friday who congratulated the pub on their success.
