Rugby branch now has over 320 members and last nights AGM had some significant changes to the committee line up.  The major change is with Steve Durrant taking over as Chairman.  Steve is the successful Beer Festival organiser for Rugby CAMRA and also the Braunstone Boat Show.  He has also been our social secretary, a role he will continue with.  Steve brings with him a wealth of local beer knowledge as well as being the Brewery Liaison Officer for locals brewers Dowbridge and the Rugby Brewing Company.  Steve Heighton stated "Bluey, as he is affectionately known, is a popular respected member of the branch who hopes to get more of the local members involved in the local Campaigns for the coming year.  With the recession hitting hard we will need to get organised and Steve will be good at this".

The other changes see Ivan Farrell return to the committee as Vice Chairman.  Newcomer John Phipps comes in for the demanding Pubs Officer Role.  Mike Allsop is the Membership officer, while the Web Editor remains as Martin Lane with Steve Heighton continuing as Publicity Officer.  Steve Heighton also added "The one major role not filled was that of Editor for the popular Rugby Branch Newsletter the Inn Touch. The Bi Monthly newsletter has a circulation of 1,200 and is distributed locally and across the Midlands.  If anyone is interested in filling this role please contact this website".

The next monthly meeting is being held this Wednesday the 27th July and is open to all members.
