Gold award for beer festivalBy Steve Heighton
Rugby CAMRA are delighted to announce that at their 32nd Beer Festival they will also be holding the judging for the Regional Golden Ales awards for 2015.
Steve Heighton from CAMRA stated ' On top of the Rugger themed beer festival we are also judging the six top Golden Ales from the West Midlands. The judging will be done by seven local guest tasters including representatives from the local Rugby club's. We felt that the Rugby playing community know their ales and so felt it right they should judge what they think is the best beer '.
Gary Curtis first team captain at St Andrews added ' There is a healthy strong rivalry between the local teams and so it will a great opportunity to share the judging with the other clubs'.
Steve added' The winner will be announced at the beer festival at 3pm and then anyone attending the festival can try the same ales as well as forty more principally based on ' Rugby' themed beers.
The two day festival at The Thornfield Bowls Club, opens at 2pm on Friday September 18th, with the England game being shown live in the evening.
