Campaign for Real Ale

Campaign for Real Ale

Local Campaigning

CAMRA has a very active programme to promote responsible enjoyment of real ales. To do this we help promote breweries, local pubs and hold festivals to showcase some of our countries best (and worst). Campaigns are constantly running to pressure the Government, companies and other agencies to help keep pubs open, make them affordable and keep the trade viable.

Subscribing to the emails from CAMRA keeps us and you updated about these campaigns and even helps us all to let our MP know how we feel. Please subscribe and help the campaign as much as you are able. Let us keep the pressure on to make a positive change.

More locally we support our locals and help keep them open. Where possible Public Houses that are at risk of being converted are listed as an Asset of Community Value. We have had varying success in this aspect of campaigning, with the most successful being led by a more local group with our members supporting. An up to date list is available through the Council website (https://www.rugby.gov.uk/downloads/file/1351/register_of_community_assets).

Currently the Shoulder of Mutton PH in Grandbourough is listed. In the past the Stag and Phesant PH in Newton, the Bull Inn in Clifton upon Dunsmore, the White Lion PH in Pailton, the Denbeigh Arms PH in Monks Kirby have also been listed.

Please keep an eye on local press and/or attend our monthly meetings to keep up to date on current applications.
